About the Author

Josh Golding (Goldrush Films) has been a producer, story editor and script consultant for twenty years, working for Hollywood companies such as the Samuel Goldwyn Company and MGM/Pathe, and extensively for the BBC in the UK for whom he has produced two films, and developed numerous tv dramas and features. He is currently an Associate Lecturer in screenwriting at Central St. Martin's College, where he has devised a beginners and intermediate programme. He teaches regular advanced seminars independently, as well as consulting widely for independent production companies.

Cleverly explained advanced screenwriting concepts

This book approaches screenwriting from another angle. If films like Memento, Groundhog Day, Pulp Fiction or The Truman Show are your kind of films, then do yourself a favor a have a read at it. It instructs stuff that i've, personally, didn't read in no other screenwriting book and i read quite a lot and found them all usefull. Some stuff, i must admit, is quite hard to digest at a first read but it starts to fall into place from further re-reading.

I didn't buy my copy from Amazon tho but from BFI Filmstore in London and i'm quite amazed frankly that there's no reviews on Amazon yet.

Too simple , errors

This book looks as if it is a book with technical information for grown-ups with a technical interest. It is not, it is a thin (25 text pages) book with very simplied information on a few aircraft and containing not always correct information. For instance, the radio aerials of the DC-3 (p 9) are definitely not the control cables. The drawings and photo's are OK, though. Recommended for 10 year-old children, not grown-ups.

'Civil Aircraft' book review

As with the other books I purchased, this too is excellent. Being an avid model builder (among other hobbies and interests), I rely heavily on books, magazines, the internet, for images for color schemes of the models. I have avast collection of books with information photographs of world aircraft. This book is one of them. An excellent addition to anyone who engages in that hobby.

A refreshingly different type of read!

This was a fairly quick read, but I was sucked into it from beginning to end. The style of writing is very different from average books, which I really enjoyed. Interesting subject matter and tone of the book was really refreshing.

Bottom line: Worth reading and would be a great gift for the open minded book worm!!

Beautifully written with poetic dream sequences that almost feel like songs, this book takes you deep into the mind of someone losing touch with reality. I found myself having to occasionally put the book down and come back to my own happy reality as I was pulled into the depressive psychosis of the character.
